Emerald Wings

The Emerald Wings, built in France in 1920, was sunk in Skerry Sound in July 1940 and was among the most prominent blockships for years after the war. She has slowly broken down, but part of the bow shows at low tide and her mast stands clear at every state of the tide. Underwater the stern is the most intact part, with railings, a pair of bitts and the steering quadrant, while the propeller is gone. Her hatches are open so divers can look beneath them.
