Il Grottino
The small cavern opens at around 10 to 12 m and exits at about 5 m after a few metres, and slipper lobsters and the odd European lobster live inside. In front of it a semicircular ridge rises from sand at about 35 m to within about 10 m of the surface. Groupers, brown meagre, moray eels and conger eels live along the ridge, and its outer tip carries red gorgonians at about 30 m. Dentex and amberjack sometimes pass the outer shoal. A sand and rock channel at 15 to 18 m between cave and shoal is home to octopuses.
