Grotta di Pan di Zucchero
Also known as: Grotta Pan di Zucchero
The limestone stack of Pan di Zucchero rises about 35 m out of the sea in front of some of the oldest cliffs in Europe. Underwater the cliff continues with walls covered in colourful sponges and yellow cluster anemones, where lobsters and passing fish are seen. The main cave goes through the rock and comes out on the other side of the wall. Further along the cliff another, shallower cave ends in an air bubble where divers can take out their regulators. The guide of the Amici del Mare club also mentions a fresh-water spring inside.
