Capo d'Orso Submarine Wrecks
Also known as: Capo d'Orso Submarines · Relitti del Sommergibile
Pianeta Alghero describes one hull of about 30 m sitting upright in sand and mud, its bow destroyed by explosions but its conning tower in good condition and covered with red gorgonians. Sponges, hydroids and soft corals colonise the hull, and anthias, conger eels and amberjack are seen around it. Heavy boat traffic makes the area impractical in summer, and visibility is often limited. Scuba Revolution lists the site for extended range or trimix divers and recommends a scooter, and current there is moderate and sometimes strong.
