Lion's Head

Also known as: Lionhead

Lion's Head lies on the north side of Cherry Cove, a mooring area on the west side of Isthmus Cove close to Two Harbors, and is one of the sites boats use for calm, easy diving. Its protected position means little or no current, and the depth stays within about 18 m. Mantis shrimp, bat rays, moray eels, octopus, leopard sharks and kelpfish are among the animals reported. Underwater photographers rate the area's kelp for wide-angle and fish photography, and the water is usually clearer than on the south side of Cherry Cove.
