Shaabruhr Umm Gamar
Also known as: Shabruhr Umm Gamar · Shaab Rur Umm Gamar · Shaabrurh Umm Gammar · Shabruhr Umm Gammar
Unlike its northern neighbour, Shaabruhr has no island or beacon above it, and it has claimed several ships over the years. The remains of an old Egyptian vessel that supplied the army on Shadwan Island lie on its southern side, and a sunken safari boat and the Colona IV lie at greater depth. A plateau of 15 to 30 m surrounds the reef, narrow in the south and east and broad and sandy in the west, while the shallow reef has many small caves and overhangs. Divers either drift the east wall or explore the southern plateau, the wreck and the drop-off beyond it. Whitetip reef sharks, jacks and big tuna patrol the drop-off, and grey reef sharks are seen most often in the afternoon.
