Ras Disha
The main reef itself is largely bare, so the best route circles the three ergs that rise from sand at about 10 to 12 m south of the headland. The northernmost erg has a cavern thick with glassfish, and Egypt Dive mentions a tunnel at about 5 m that makes a good safety stop. The sand holds some of the richest bottom life of the area: crocodilefish, flatfish, stonefish, spiny devilfish, bluespotted rays and sea moths. Jacks, lionfish and redmouth groupers hunt the glassfish, and schools of juvenile barracuda move between the ergs. Red Sea Partner mentions a garden eel field on the sandy slope.
