Japanese Wreck

Also known as: Japanese Shipwreck

The freighter sits in a sheltered bay of black sand in shallow water. Black corals, soft corals, sponges and gorgonians cover the hull, sometimes with pygmy seahorses, and anthias, parrotfish and angelfish swarm around it. Because the wreck is small, there is time on the same dive for the reef beside it. The reef has table and staghorn corals in the shallows and soft corals, gorgonians and nudibranchs further down, where ghost pipefish and demon stingers can be found. Visibility drops when there is current or swell, but the bay is well protected.
