An island off the southwestern coast of Bohol in the Bohol Sea, together with the neighboring islands of Balicasag, Gak-ang and Pontod, forming one of the Philippines' best-known diving and beach destinations.
Panglao is an island of about 91 square kilometres in the Bohol Sea, administratively split between the municipalities of Panglao and Dauis, roughly 20 km from Tagbilaran. Its territory includes the smaller islands of Balicasag, Gak-ang and Pontod. Alona Beach is the island's main tourist hub, and the area supports scuba diving, snorkeling, dolphin watching, island hopping and kitesurfing, with nearby Balicasag Island in particular known for its marine sanctuary.
