Long Point

Long Point offers several dives in one place. Pirate's Cove on the inside of the point has a sloping sand flat for classes and stacked boulders that are home to many moray eels. Off the point a ridge of rock steps down in pinnacles and mini-walls, with blacksmith, opaleye and halfmoon schooling above and sea fans on the deeper rock. Over the crest the current almost always runs from west to east, bringing mackerel, barracuda and in summer giant black sea bass. Around the point lies one of the island's marine protected areas, where divers report bold spiny lobsters and feisty nesting garibaldi.
