Saltwater State Park
Saltwater State Park's dive site is an artificial reef built by the Washington Scuba Alliance in a protected marine sanctuary where harvesting is not allowed. From the sandy beach a surface swim of about 300 yards, depending on the tide, leads to a buoy marking a sunken wreck and the start of the dive. East-west and north-south rope lines guide divers to three parallel rows of boulders and concrete pipes that drop from around 25 ft to 80 or 90 ft. Large lingcod and rockfish, wolf eels, plumose anemones and giant Pacific octopus are the main attractions. Wind and current must be checked before diving, and a state park fee or Discover Pass is required.
