Three Tree Point
Also known as: Three Tree Point North · TTN · Three Tree N.
The natural bottom at Three Tree Point is a moderate slope of sand and cobble, but locals have added tire piles, concrete pipes, bathroom fixtures, a satellite dish and several boats. To the right of the entry the junkyard runs for several hundred yards, including the so-called golf ball boat where octopus often hide, while a lone cabin cruiser covered in plumose anemones lies to the left at around 70 ft. At night red octopus, sailfin and grunt sculpins, stubby and opalescent squid and ratfish appear in numbers, and Pacific spiny lumpsuckers settle on broadleaf kelp in the shallows from late autumn. Sixgill sharks have been seen here at night between June and October. Parking is limited to a handful of cars in a residential street, there are no facilities, and the beach access is officially open from dawn to dusk.
