Dahrat Abid
Also known as: Dahrat Abida · Dahret Abid · Dahrait Abid
Dahrat Abid is a narrow island inhabited only by birds at the southern end of the South Suakin group. Three wrecks lie on its north-west side: a former sailing boat, an unknown motor ship and a rescue boat. The south-west plateau has a steep, gorgonian-hung wall with black coral below 30 m, while the north-east plateau descends from about 4 to 14 m before dropping off into the blue. Off that edge whitetip, grey reef and silvertip sharks pass, and schools of scalloped hammerheads, sometimes more than a hundred animals, can be seen. Giant sweetlips accompany divers on the shallow reef top.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
