Kapalai House Reef

Also known as: Check Point

The dive starts on the sloping reef and reaches sand at about 12 metres, where the structures were placed to attract marine life. Giant groupers, great barracuda and sweetlips use the frames for shelter. Photographers look for tiny frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, blue-ringed octopus, ghost pipefish, orangutan crabs and many nudibranchs. Mandarinfish appear in the shallows, and Scuba Junkie's guides know a very large resident giant moray eel they call Elvis.
