Crocodile Avenue
The dive follows a gentle slope of sand with small patches of weed and rock, so progress is slow and the eyes stay close to the bottom. Crocodilefish rest flat on the sand, seahorses cling to weed with their tails and ornate ghost pipefish drift nearby. Garden eels pull back into the sand as divers approach, and an eagle ray sometimes passes. The site is also a popular night dive, when cuttlefish, nudibranchs and crabs come out. Visibility is typically around 10 metres or less, which matters little for a macro dive.
