Eagle Rock

Eagle Rock sits at the western tip of Catalina, just around the corner onto the exposed backside. Underwater it forms a finger-like pinnacle with crevices and ledges, and a reef connects it to the western point of the island. Large sea fans grow all around the rock at roughly 12 to 24 m, and the drop-offs are very fishy. Horn sharks, sea lions, guitarfish and torpedo rays are reported here. Being on the windward side, it is dived only when conditions allow.
