Gran Cenote

White walls, stalactites and stalagmites impress beginners and experienced divers alike. Good buoyancy control helps protect the formations. Turtles, bats and small fish can be seen in this garden cenote, which has shallow areas suitable for snorkellers. Cave divers can continue from the cavern towards Cenote Ho-Tul, the Cuzan Nah loop or the Paso Lagarto line, and guided traverses from Cenote Calimba end here. There is no halocline in this part of the system. Gran Cenote is currently open only for snorkelling and closed for diving, so check before planning a dive.
