Gran Cenote
Divernet describes white walls, stalactites and stalagmites that impress beginners and experienced divers alike, and stresses buoyancy control to protect the formations. Ko'ox mentions turtles, bats and small fish and calls it a garden cenote, with shallow areas that also suit snorkellers. Cave divers continue from the cavern towards Cenote Ho-Tul, the Cuzan Nah loop or the Paso Lagarto line, and guided traverses from Cenote Calimba end here. CaveAtlas notes that there is no halocline in this part of the system. Ko'ox currently reports that Gran Cenote is open only for snorkelling and closed for diving, so check before planning a dive.
