The Porites

The Porites is a site inside the reef near Coral Bay whose name comes from the many Porites brain coral bommies scattered across it, some of them huge. The coral heads form unusual shapes and shelter octopus, cuttlefish, nudibranchs, shrimps, moray eels and batfish. Anemones with their anemonefish are common, and wobbegong sharks and soft corals add variety. Perth Scuba dived it after swell had kept their boat away from the outer reef.
