Blizzard Ridge

Also known as: Blizzard Reef

Blizzard Ridge is a long crack in the reef that forms a ridge line running along a sandy bottom in the Lighthouse Bay sanctuary zone, where boats use moorings instead of anchoring. The structure itself is modest, but it draws huge schools of fish that swirl around the ridge. Whitetip reef sharks, wobbegongs, sea snakes, turtles and many nudibranchs are common, and a manta cleaning station brings the occasional manta ray. One local guide rates it the best site in the bay, and a liveaboard operator calls it a signature dive of Ningaloo.
