Bee Rock

Bee Rock consists of two low rocks that break the surface, with steep sides dropping to a field of submerged pinnacles, mini walls and large boulders. Swells usually wash over it, so November and December are the best times to reach it. The marine life leans to cold-water species: big anemones, carpets of corynactis, sponges and nudibranchs, with lingcod, sheephead and calico bass in the kelp. Large rock scallops are its best-known catch. Surge, currents and green, plankton-rich water are typical.
