Cat Rock

Cat Rock stands close to the shore near the middle of West Anacapa Island's south side and forms a small bay around it. Inside the bay divers are protected from the current that runs past the outer area. The bottom is rocky structure cut by sand channels, with kelp, schools of fish, gorgonians and lobsters. Invertebrates are densest on the outer rocks where the current brings food, and brittle stars carpet the deeper sections. The site is considered suitable for all levels.
