Aggi Wreck

Also known as: Aggi

The Aggi, launched in Scotland as the Aspice, was a 265 ft three-masted ship that broke loose from its tow in a storm and was driven onto Santa Rosa Island in 1915. Most of the wreckage lies in shallow water at Talcott Shoal, with a section of hull draped across the reef, the curved stern and the iron tubes of the masts still recognisable. Calico bass, perch, rockfish and large lobsters shelter among the remains. The site is only diveable in good weather and can be surgy even at depth. Artefacts are protected by the national park.
