Tanjung Buton

The upper reef curves around the cape before plunging into deep blue water. The current that often runs here draws in schools of jacks and tuna. When a thermocline brings cooler water up, divers keep watching the blue, because schooling hammerhead sharks may pass. The liveaboard Dancing Wind dives it together with Karang Hatta on the same morning and mentions the chance of seeing schooling bumphead parrotfish gathering before they head out for the day.
