Pulau Keraka

Also known as: Pulau Karaka · Crab Island

The dive normally starts on the south side, where a near vertical wall covered in blue and yellow sea squirts gives way to a sandy slope with large coral heads at around 20 m. Around these bommies live giant, honeycomb and snowflake morays, a small school of chevron barracuda, garden eels and titan triggerfish. The mix of rocky walls, boulders and reef top hosts many small critters such as candy crabs, nudibranchs, ornate ghost pipefish and leaf scorpionfish. Currents are rarely strong, so the site is easy to dive and works well as a first dive or a night dive. After dark the eels become active and slipper lobsters, anemone crabs and shrimps come out.
