Inchcape 1

Also known as: Inch 1

Inchcape 1 began life as the Gray Swift 2, built in the USA and used by Inchcape Shipping Services to carry crew and supplies along the UAE coast. After decommissioning it was cleaned and sunk on 12 December 2001, the first of the Inchcape artificial reefs. The roughly 18 m hull now rests upright on a sandy bottom at around 30 m, and a cyclone later tore off its wheelhouse. Dive centres describe the wreck as smothered in fish, with honeycomb morays, lionfish, seahorses, pufferfish and frogfish in summer. It is also used for technical training on rebreathers and sidemount.
