Scoglio della Nave
Also known as: Ship Rock
The easy route follows the outer face of the rock, colourful from 10 m, with yellow gorgonians, octopus, groupers, congers and morays; nudibranchs, pipefish and sometimes seahorses appear near the surface. The deeper route crosses sand to a ridge that drops almost vertically from about 20 m to 40 m or more. Lobsters, forkbeards, big scorpionfish and, in spring, John Dory live here, and passing tuna may appear. At the end of the ridge the remains of a Second World War mine trolley lie on the sand.
