Bettolina Wreck
Also known as: Relitto Bettolina
The Bettolina carried cement on the Piombino to Portoferraio route and probably sank when her load shifted in heavy seas. She sits in sailing position on a sandy bottom about one mile east of the Scoglietto. The steering wheel on the bridge, the quarterdeck and the bow winch are still in place, and several hold hatches stand open. With a torch divers can look into the holds and cabin, where resident fish live. Lobsters and large scorpionfish are usually present.
