South East Point

Also known as: Southeast Point

At the southeastern corner of Koh Surin Tai two parallel ridges of jumbled boulders lead away from the shallow reef into deeper water. Reef sharks can turn up where the current reaches them. Harlequin and robust ghost pipefish hide among the rocks, soft corals and fans, while ribbon eels and cowries live in the rubble. On the reef slope Andaman sweetlips, Andaman rabbitfish and Indian sailfin tangs are common. The site is usually dived as a drift and is also used for yacht mooring.
