Koh Chi

Also known as: Stork Island · Koh Satork · Nun Island

Koh Chi sits at the northern end of the Surin group in a slightly exposed position, which one dive centre credits with clearer water and more interesting marine life. A gentle slope covered in hard corals runs away from the western side, while granite boulders and small caverns are scattered around the north end. Blacktip reef sharks are reported here more often than at the Similan Islands, and whitetip reef sharks sometimes rest on the bottom during the day. Trevally, barracuda and tuna patrol the edges, turtles are seen, and observant divers may find a ribbon eel. At least one liveaboard operator starts its Surin trips here as an easy first dive.
