Coral Bowl

Also known as: Joe's Jam · Shark Bowl

Coral Bowl, known locally as Joe's Jam, lies just south of the sand strip that joins Buck and Capella Islands. The reef forms a bowl whose sides step down in terraces of hard and soft coral with many overhangs and ledges. From the sandy centre divers look up at coral rising like the walls of an amphitheatre to the sea fans near the rim. Caribbean reef sharks, southern stingrays, Nassau groupers, lobsters, eels and nurse sharks are reported, and the site is also recommended as a night dive.
