Mellow Yellow
Mellow Yellow is the southern end of the Bikini reef system, off the south of 2 Mile Reef. It takes its name from the large shoals of yellow fish, above all yellow and bluebanded snappers, that hang in the nutrient-rich water. The reef is a narrow, flat strip with gullies, overhangs and ledges where paperfish and cleaner shrimps live. Macro photographers look for nudibranchs, octopus and mantis shrimps, and rays are often seen near the southern tip.
