Anton's

Also known as: Antons · Anton's Cave

Anton's sits at the southern tip of 2 Mile Reef and is named after Anton Buchel, one of the first divers to explore the reef in the early 1980s. Reefteach says more than 30 percent of all Sodwana dives take place here. The reef has a high profile with caves, swim-throughs, plate corals and a large patch of leather coral. Humpback, bluebanded, yellow and dory snappers form yellow clouds above the reef, and bigeye kingfish, pickhandle barracuda and slender baardman patrol its edges. Frogfish, paperfish and giant morays hide in the reef, while turtles and manta rays sometimes feed nearby.
