Stanger Head

Stanger Head lies on the south-east corner of Flotta, and boats drop divers right next to the cliffs. The wall runs at around 20 metres, and with the current divers may reach the two sea stacks known as the Old Man and Old Woman of Flotta, which rise in a shallow cove backed by a natural arch. Leaving the cove leads into a lively drift over deeper ground where scallops are found around 40 metres. Wrasse, pollock, cod, saithe and octopus are common.
