SMS Kronprinz Wilhelm
Also known as: Kronprinz
SMS Kronprinz Wilhelm was scuttled in 1919 and lies upside down today, like her two König-class sisters. Because her hull reaches up to around 12 metres she is often the first battleship that visiting divers explore, though the most interesting parts lie deeper than 30 metres. Where the gap between deck and seabed opens up, divers can look underneath to the main gun turrets, and half of her ten 12-inch guns remain visible. Scapa Flow Wrecks points out that hardly anywhere else can sport divers get this close to the big guns of a dreadnought. The shallower hull plates are colonised by anemones and other marine life thanks to the better light.
