Secca di Budelli
Also known as: Sommo dello Zoppo
The top of the shoal is shallower than 10 m, but the best of the dive lies deeper, among huge granite monoliths, sharp ridges and pinnacles. The eastern, inner side is the richest, with gorgonian-covered walls and channels where sponges, shrimps and small lobsters live. Orso Diving describes a chain of sub-shoals running about 300 m from north-west to south, rich in red gorgonians and big groupers. The exposed position brings barracuda, dentex, greater amberjack, rays and occasionally sunfish. Both dive centres recommend it for experienced divers because of the current.
