Sardine Reef

Also known as: Sardines · Sardines Reef

Sardine Reef sits in open water near Koi Island, so divers usually drop into the blue and drift onto the reef. There are no sardines, but fusiliers, snappers and surgeonfish gather in dense numbers, and Dive The World describes trevallies and tuna so thick that they dim the light. Barracuda and bumphead parrotfish hunt and feed around the patch, and whitetip and blacktip reef sharks are common. Wobbegong sharks rest under table corals and pygmy seahorses live on the gorgonians.
