New Reef
Also known as: Dom Tete · Dom Te Te
New Reef is an underwater mound near Pasir Timbul, a few minutes from the Kri dive centres. Because it is dived less often, its corals are in spectacular shape, with red sponges and bommies full of glassfish. The top holds one of the best shallow coral gardens in the area, where turtles are often seen. A sandy patch at the base hosts a field of garden eels, and a large school of surgeonfish sometimes passes. Soul Scuba Divers also call it 'Dom Tete', after the local man who first showed it to them.
