Altare
Also known as: Punta dell'Altare
The dive begins around 10 to 16 m on a gently sloping area of large algae-covered boulders that extends to about 20 m. From there a vertical, partly overhanging wall shaped like an amphitheatre drops for almost 30 m, with gorgonians and clouds of anthias in its upper part and dense red coral deeper down. Diving Group Portofino also describes three pinnacles rising from the bottom and a large boulder with a vault of yellow cup corals at 18 m. Groupers are common, along with schools of white seabream, salema, snapper and barracuda.
