Bigo

Also known as: Aurora

Two submerged rock spurs drop steeply with a small canyon of debris between them, reaching about 30 to 40 m. There is little classic coralligenous growth, but red and yellow gorgonians cover the deeper rock and many nudibranchs live on hydroids and sponges. Boulders at mid depth create dens for octopus, moray and conger eels, and groupers, gilthead seabream and sea bass are common. At about 8 m stands a diver statue placed in 2001 in memory of a local boatman. There is no mooring buoy, so boats anchor, and a surface marker buoy is needed because of boat traffic.
