Kuda Laut

Also known as: Lettuce Surpriz U

Teresa Zubi explains that the dive operators gave the site two names. In the north-west of the bay, lava once ran into the sea and left hollows that lettuce corals and other hard corals now fill. Most of the dive covers a gently sloping black sand bottom dotted with corals and sponges, where she watched a flamboyant cuttlefish hide its eggs under half a coconut shell. In the top 10 m she found filamented ghost pipefish, crabs carrying sea urchins and a coconut octopus, and Wannadive lists mandarinfish, cuttlefish, seahorses and octopus.
