Koh Rok
The two uninhabited islands are separated by a narrow channel about 15 m deep, and both are ringed by white beaches and reefs. On the western side hard corals slope gently down to sand at around 20 m, where blue-spotted stingrays rest and blacktip reef sharks are active at dawn and dusk. The eastern side is dominated by soft corals, large gorgonian fans, barrel sponges and bubble corals, which draw feeding hawksbill and green turtles. Giant clams, carpet anemones with clownfish and fire coral gardens are common, and convict surgeonfish occur here but rarely elsewhere around Lanta. The southern point can see stronger current with mackerel, cobia and barracuda.
