Pina Reef

Also known as: Pen shell reef · Pina

Pina Reef takes its name from the colony of pen shells living among small rocks on the shallow sand between the island and the wall. Turtles feed on these shells, so encounters in the shallows are likely. The northwest end of the wall deepens into a rock and sand slope. Heading north from the island across a sandy, seagrass-covered pass leads to a second reef with a very shallow top.
