Flying Fish Reef
Also known as: Flying Fish · Uçanbalık Bankosu · Uçanbalık Resifi
Flying Fish Reef is the Kaş site closest to Meis, about half an hour by boat from the harbour. Its top sits only 4 to 5 metres down, while the southeast wall drops away and the seabed eventually reaches around 60 metres, with old amphorae scattered down the slope. When the current is manageable, that wall gathers predators such as dentex, large groupers, barracuda, amberjack and bonito, together with pink anthias. Off the southeast end rests an Italian SM79 torpedo bomber, shot down by anti-aircraft fire while attacking Meis during WWII, at 55 to 71 metres; reaching it is a technical dive for very experienced divers only. Local dive centres describe the site as one of the best in Turkey, but the current can be strong enough to call off a dive.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
