Besmi Island
Also known as: Besmi Reef · Besmi · Besmi Adası
Besmi Island sits right next to the Greek island of Meis, so close that dive centres joke about bringing a passport. Divers can circle the island and choose between the shallow northeast side, where turtles are often seen, and the large rocky steps on the southeast side, where barracuda patrol. Below 40 metres on the far northern end of the reef lies an ancient wreck site known for big storage jars (pithoi), intact amphorae and many anchors. The current usually runs from the southeast and can sweep along the island's flanks, so the dive depends on conditions.

Vote for the name divers really use. Divers who logged a dive here count double. The votes are counted every night, and the main name only changes when another name has led clearly for a week.
