Dale Point

The site mixes steep walls with sections of reef at the point where the marine reserve meets the Tasman Sea. Large black coral trees and yellow zoanthids cover the rock. The list of regular sightings is long: octopus, eagle rays and stingrays, dogfish, school and carpet sharks, conger eels, stargazers, butterfly perch, wrasses, marblefish and tarakihi. Nudibranchs are found on the walls as well.
