Krebsgarten takes its name from the many crayfish living in the water plants that cover the shallows in summer. Stone steps lead from the promenade straight into the lake, and the bottom slopes gently over silt. Local dive centres have built an underwater course with a platform, tents, a bathtub, a small boat, figures and a double tunnel of fence panels that can be swum through. Deeper down at about 40 m an elephant statue and a feature called the 'Tor zur Finsternis' wait for more experienced divers. Tauchschule Meersburg uses the site for training, check-out and refresher dives.
