Shakwe Wreck

Shakwe means seagull in Swahili, and it is the most distant site Aqua Ventures dives. The hull is overgrown with small coral heads and busy with small crabs, nudibranchs and a shoal of batfish. Red snapper and big groupers lurk inside, geometric morays are common, and thousands of glassfish hover around old fishing nets still hanging from the outriggers. The large brass propeller is a favourite photo subject, and bottlenose dolphins are often met nearby. Apart from the wheelhouse the wreck is not accessible inside.
