Brain Coral

The site is recognised by a big rose coral outcrop at its northern tip, which Turtle Dive describes as a giant brain coral settled by morays and reef fish. Yellow and purple soft corals cover its overhangs, where snappers, coral groupers, lionfish and glassfish gather and cleaner shrimps can be watched working on the groupers. A few minutes south of the mooring a drop-off is home to a pair of giant moray eels, and leaf scorpionfish in several colours are common. Red-tooth triggerfish and anthias crowd the reef top, and reef sharks, manta rays, whale sharks, dolphins and Napoleon wrasse have all been recorded along the drop-off. With air to spare, divers can carry on south to Deep Place.
