Black Coral
Also known as: Black Coral Reef
The site is named after its soft black coral bushes, a sight few divers know. Long whip corals, barrel sponges of 1 to 1.5 m and purple and yellow sea cucumbers that filter plankton from the water are further highlights. Squirrelfish, large groupers and snapper live on the reef. In good conditions divers can return mid-water to the main reef and often meet turtles and rays, occasionally even a sailfish. The plankton-rich water of the bay also makes it a place for whale sharks and manta rays in season.
